Notes:

This painting took its inspiration from a drawing made by Bacler d'Albe held at the Château de Vincennes (Service historique de l'armée de Terre). A sketch was exhibited at the Salon of 1804. The painting itself was bought during the Empire period for the Salle des Maréchaux in the Tuileries Palace.
