USI's Historic Southern Indiana will be hosting "1812: Harrison Takes Control", an educational symposium on the War of 1812, from 9.30am to 3.45pm on Saturday 30 June, at Vincennes University's Indiana Center for Applied Technology. The symposium is the third of four educational symposia on the War of 1812 and its impact on the Indiana Territory, the Midwest, and the nation. This year's symposium will focus on the events of 1812, with emphasis on political themes and the militia of Kentucky and Indiana. Speakers will include Dr. Patrick G. Bottiger, Richard Ferguson, James A. Hendricks, Dr. Lisa Morales, and John Trowbridge. Click here for the programme (external link).
