The town of Slavkov u Brna (Austerlitz), in association with the Société Napoléonienne d'Europe Centrale and Slavkov castle, is organising the 2012 edition of Napoleonic Days, a Napoleonic-themed festival that runs from 10 to 12 August. Several re-enactment groups will be participating in the festival, with between 150 and 200 soldiers of the French, Russian and Austrian armies scheduled to make an appearance. Saturday will see the re-enactors take part in military exercises and manoeuvres, with a battle set to take place in the afternoon. A second battle is also scheduled for Sunday morning. This year the festival will be marking the bicentenary of the 1812 Russian campaign. The "Napoleon Golf Cup", the traditional golf tournament held on the Austerlitz golf course, will take place on Saturday, whilst the castle will be the scene for an international wine exhibition and competition.
