RSS feeds (RSS apparently stands for “Really Simple Syndication”) are alerts regarding specific updates on your favourite web sites, consultable either online or via web browsers (and no longer email related). They can however only be accessed via a news reader/news aggregator. Such readers/aggregators are for the most part free and are accessible either already online or downloadable from the web. As for their form, they are web pages which present the updates via a sentence of description and a link.
Now, using this system, visitors to www.napoleon.org can set up their own RSS feeds and so be informed as to the most recent updates on a specific subject, both in the French and English language versions. You might want details regarding exhibitions on Josephine, or books on Napoleonic Poland, or you might simply want to know the most recent site updates, etc. Sign up for RSS and get ‘in the loop’. If you want further details, send us an
email.
