This year, the Fondation Napoléon History Grand Prix and Research Grant Awards Ceremony took place on Tuesday 8 December, in the Salon d'honneur at the Hôtel des Invalides, in the presence of H.I.H. the Princess Napoleon and the Prince d'Essling, President of the Fondation Napoléon.
 
These prizes are awarded each year for work relating to the two French Empires.

Victor-André Masséna, Prince d'Essling, President of the Fondation Napoléon, presented a prize, on behalf of the Fondation and the Souvenir Napoléonien, to Emmanuel Ticchi, a twelve-year-old student, for the interest he has shown in the history of the First Empire.

- Grand Prix: Isabelle Rouge-Ducos, L'Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile dans l'Art et l'Histoire, Dijon, Éditions Faton
- First Empire prize: Jean-Paul Bertaud, Les royalistes et Napoléon, Paris, Éditions Flammarion
- Second Empire prize: Pierre Pellissier, Mérimée, Paris, Éditions Tallandier
