	Ismailia. General view of the Company workshops. Ismailia was designed and built by Company engineers at the time of the first construction work, when the site was in the middle of the desert, half way between Port Said and Suez, and at the intersection of the sea canal and the freshwater canal channelled from the Nile. It was on the banks of the freshwater canal that repair workshops were set up.
