	Port Thewfik. Levee. Camel Park. Positioned at the southernmost tip of the Suez canal, Port Thewfik was an obligatory port of call for ships from the Red Sea. One, undeveloped part of the levee was used as a park for the camels which provided desert transport and kept open the overland link with Cairo.
