Port Said.
Place de Lesseps.
Port Said was a town created entirely by the Company on the strip
of land separating Lake Menzaleh from the Mediterranean. In the
centre, at the meeting place of two major roads, there is a lozenge-shaped
square called Place Ferdinand de Lesseps (Ferdinand de Lesseps
Square). Hotels were set up all around its perimeter. This was
where Hippolyte Arnoux chose to establish his photographic shop,
seen here under the truncated lettering "Photographe du canal".
