Friends of the Cabildo is proud to announce a symposium in conjunction with the Bicentennial of the Battle of New Orleans Weekend (Saturday, January 10th). Held at the Old U.S. Mint 3rd Floor Performance Space, Dr. Alan Taylor will present on the War of 1812 and his newest book The Internal Enemy: Slavery and the War in Virginia, 1772-1832.
A panel discussion will take place with Dr. Lawrence Powell and Dr. Clarence Mohr, moderated by Dr. Charles Chamberlain. Other lecturers include Dr. Lo Faber, recent Princeton University graduate and visiting Loyola University-New Orleans Visiting Professor, United States Military Academy – The History of Warfare Historian Dr. Joseph Stoltz and more to be announced.
