A programme of talks to accompany the exhibition taking place at Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery (UK) from 29 July until 1 October 2017.

Tuesday Lunchtime Talks – 12.30 – 1pm, booking not required

8 August Nelson in the Norfolk Archives – Frank Meeres, Norfolk Record Office.

22 August: Restoration of the Nelson Monument in Great Yarmouth – Michael Knights, former Historic Buildings Officer.

29 August: Nelson’s Shadow: Taking Norfolk’s Mariners out of Lord Nelson’s Mighty Shadow – Mark Nicholls, author Norfolk Maritime Heroes and Legends.

5 September: From the Battle of the Nile to the Capture of Le Généreux – Tim Clayton, awardwinning and bestselling author.

12 September: The Immortal Memory: Norfolk’s Nelsoniana – Ruth Battersby Tooke, Exhibition Curator.

And also:

Thursday 14 September, 12.30pm: Conserving Textiles from the Battle of Trafalgar with the National Maritime Museum’s Head of Conservation, Nicola Yates.

Thursday 14 September, 2 – 3.30pm: Demonstration – Hold Fast! Hands-on Ropemaking with Des and Liz Pawson.

Tuesdays 1 & 8 August, 2pm: Exhibition Tour – Nelson and Norfolk with Exhibition Curator, Ruth Battersby Tooke.
