TWO HUNDRED YEARS AGO
The French Anatomical Society is one of the most ancient scientific medical societies in the world. Founded on 12 Brumaire, An XII (4 November, 1803) by Dupuytren and Laënnec as part of the Paris medical faculty, its aim was to encourage and support the anatomical/clinical methods pursued by Bichat. The basis of this approach was the study of man, both normal and pathological. A keen society of competitive enthusiasts, its members met once a week to discuss their discoveries and hypotheses.

Wishing you an excellent, Napoleonic, week!
