The decoration of this room, completed in ten days by the Jacob brothers and the painter Moench after designs by Percier and Fontaine, has been completely restored to its First Empire state. The paintings hanging in the room were contemporary works from the Empress Josephine's paintings collection; her old masters and antiquities were set in the gallery which Berthault built off the music room, a gallery which was however to be knocked down in 1830.
