This exhibition asks major questions about the way in which we depict and commemorate war. From the Napoleonic wars to the present day, it depicts the horror of war and its hideous consequences on human beings, animals, the landscape and objects. It tells the story of the artists' disenchantment with war through more than 450 works in a huge variety of media: painting, sculpture, graphic arts, photography, film, video, installations, comic strips, popular prints, newspaper cartoons, and more.
