Napoléon Who?! Prince, Prisoner, President, Emperor. Louis Napoléon (1808-1873)

On show in this exhibition on Napoleon III is the collection of Kip Forbes. Previously exhibited at the Nassau County Museum of Art in 2009, the show here includes remarkable sculptures by Carpeaux, art works by and after Winterhalter, the extraordinary historical document that is Napoleon III's letter of surrender to the King of Prussia in 1870, not to mention some more homely items of Staffordshire pottery, virulent caricatures and engravings.
