Evening talk in the medieval undercroft of Windsor Castle.

This talk will look at the Royal Collection's important and diverse range of memorabilia relating to the Battle of Waterloo, which was largely collected by George IV, who as Prince Regent was acclaimed along with the Duke of Wellington as the bringer of peace to Europe. Join Dr Kate Heard, Senior Curator of Prints and Drawings, as she examines these fascinating objects, ranging from prints and drawings to paintings and even a magnificent desk said to have belonged to Napoleon. How did George IV form this collection and why was he so interested in a battle in which he had played no part?
