'The making of Waterloo'
 
The Académie Royale de Belgique is holding a talk and reenactment event on Tuesday 12 May to mark the bicentenary of Waterloo and to welcome new members of the Collège des Alumni.
 
Philippe Raxhon of the University of Liège will give a talk on the strategic issues and commemoration of the Battle of Waterloo. This will be followed by a talk by the scenographer Franky Simon on the reenactment of the battle. This reenactment will bring together 6,000 reenactors from 52 countries at Waterloo on 19 and 20 June 2015. Simon will be playing Marshal Ney and is joined by four reenactors, two for each side of the battle.
 
The talks will be followed by drinks.
