Napoléon dans les plaines de Fleurus

In June 2015, Belgium will celebrate the bicentenary of the Belgian campaign of 1815 in which Napoleon Bonaparte won a final victory and suffered a terrible defeat. One would be known as “Ligny sous Fleurus”, the other “Waterloo”.
This period of the history of France and Belgium has left a vivid memory in Belgium.
As part of the events scheduled in 2015, the City of Fleurus decided to capitalise on its heritage through several initiatives.
One of the fundamental elements of our program will be at the Château de la Paix, where Napoleon stayed on the evening of 16 June, 1815.
The city will recreate the room where he slept, and also proposes several conferences.
