What aspects of the international order established at the Vienna Congress were meant to avoid conflicts within the system of European powers?
What other served to suppress any movement Emancipation?
What reforms of the revolutionary period had lasting effects despite the fundamental restoration attitude among the European powers after the end of the Great Empire?
What were the consequences of the Vienna Congress for Luxembourg and Great Region?
These issues will be on the agenda of the scientific symposium orgnaised in Luxembourd by the University of Luxembourg, the History Museum of the City of Luxembourg and the Pierre Werner Institute to which are invited a large number of European researchers.
The international symposium will focus on West and Central Europe.
On 6 June, 2015 at the Museum of History of the City of Luxembourg, a workshop will address local and regional aspects of the theme.
The area concerned covers the Greater Region, ie the Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lorraine, Wallonia and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
