Consortium on the Revolutionary Era, 1750-1850 Annual Conference

The Consortium on the Revolutionary Era, 1750-1850 (CRE) is an organization of member schools dedicated to the promotion of research on the Revolutionary Period. The CRE provides an annual venue for the presentation of original research on the history of Europe, the United States, Latin America, the Atlantic World and beyond during the Age of Revolution.

In 2016, Louisiana State University-Shreveport will host the annual meeting.

2016 Keynote Speakers:
Opening night: “The Aftermath of War: The Allied Occupation of France, 1815-1818,” Christine Haynes, University of North Carolina-Charlotte
Luncheon: “The First American Civil War,” Edward F. Countryman, Southern Methodist University
Banquet: “Ideological Aspirations/Ideological Limits in the Age of the Democratic Revolution” Jack Censer, George Mason University

The conference will take place at the Hilton Convention Center.

Hotel reservations can be made at the Hilton Hotel and Conference Center, located at 104 Market Street, Shreveport, Louisiana, 71101, USA, which will serve as the conference hotel. Transportation:
Shreveport LA can be easily reached by air since Shreveport Regional Airport is served by American, Delta, United and Allegiant airlines. Dallas/Fort Worth International airport is 180 miles from the campus while regional airports are located at Longview (68 miles) and Monroe (105 miles). The city and the university can be reached by car via I-20 or I-49.
Shuttle service to and from Shreveport Regional Airport to the hotel will be available on Thursday and Sunday. Shuttles to and from the hotel to campus will be provided on the opening night, while the rest of the conference will take place inside the Hilton Convention Center.
