LES ARTS DU SUPERFLU, UN LUXE INDISPENSABLE ? Paris, les arts décoratifs et la mode
“The art of the superflous, Paris, the decorative arts and fashion”
In conjunction with its program of talks, this exhibition at the Archives of Paris presents a selection of prototypes and models. These documents, largely unpublished, belong to the “Fonds des dessins et modèles de fabriques” (Archive of manufacturing models and designs). These samples which were donated by the various manufacturers and designers to the “Conseil des prud'hommes de la Seine” (Tribunal committee of the Seine) by creators give a glimpse of part of the production by Parisian artisans of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
