The decorative scheme in the grand staircase in the Ala Napoleonica is one of shallow niches containing eight frescoes and fourteen grisailles representing trohpies and scenes from ancient history. The Comité Français de Sauvegarde Venice (the French Save Venice Committee) has launched a project to restore the building, suported by the Napoleon Foundation. Previous image
