‘Immer wieder Napoleon…!’

The Bomann-Museum Celle is holding two exhibitions and a range of cultural events to mark the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo.

This exhibition, called 'Immer wieder…Napoleon!', presents film posters and photographs from Michael Großgarten's private collection. Films on Napoleon and the Napoleonic wars range from historical dramas of the early 20th century to romantic comedies in the 1950s – 1980s, and the posters often reference famous paintings.

The presententation brochure (in German) can been seen here.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on 7 June 2015 at 11 am, with an introduction from the curator and a talk on Waterloo, myth, film and reality.

You may also be interested in the museum's symposium on German troops at Waterloo, the workshop 'Waterloo Revisited', and their exhibition on the Hanoverian troops at Waterloo.
