The famous actor François Talma (1763-1826), whom Bonaparte met in 1792, teaches Bonaparte the pose seen in Canova’s Napoléon en Mars pacificateur (the marble version of which is at Apsley House in London, and the bronze version of which is in the Pinacoteca della Brera in Milan).
