Austerlitz Table known as the Maréchaux Table

This masterpiece of the Sèvres manufactory, the 'Table des Maréchaux', was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806, made between 1808 and 1810, and cost 35,000 F. Percier made the general design, Gérard contributed the biscuit-ware Victories, Thomire founded and chased the gilt bronze work and Isabey provided the portraits which were to serve as models for those in the medallions to be produced by the Sèvres artists.

In the rays on the table top are inscribed the principal victories of the campaign of 1805. Grouped around the portrait of Napoleon in his coronation robes (after Gérard), are images of the Marshals and two dignitaries.
