Colonel François Fournier-Sarlovèze (1773-1827)

Sub-lieutenant in the Dragoons in 1792, Brigadier in chief 1797, Fournier-Sarlovèze took part in the second Italian campaign. Suspected of plotting against Bonaparte, he was arrested in 1802. Reinstated in the Armée de Naples,
he played a part in the battles of Eylau and Friedland. Promoted to Brigadier General and made Baron of the Empire
in 1808, he distinguished himself in the Peninsula War and later in the Russian campaign, where he was promoted to Division General. He was discharged in 1813 and did not support Napoleon during the Cent-Jours.
