This exceptional panoramic view of the Palais des Tuileries comes from the Lefuel Archives and is in actual fact a montage of two individual photographs, painstakingly retouched in ink along the median line. Hector Lefuel was the architect who took over from Visconti on the “Nouveau Louvre” project and closely guarded this precious document over the course of his life.
