Napoleon as "Little Corporal"

This is a replica of Seurre's monumental statue commissioned in 1831 by the Ministry of the Interior and set atop the Vendome column (it is today in the Hôtel des Invalides army museum). The present statue was cast in the interwar years of the 20th century as the crowning piece of a monument to Napoleon erected in Ajaccio.
