Napoleon’s bedroom

It was on this spot on the first floor that Napoleon had his bedroom. The present state of the room dates back to the opening of the apartment to the public in 1969. The bed (Jacob-Desmalter, 1806) was Eugène de Beauharnais's
in the Tuileries and the remaining furniture (Jacob-Frères) comes from the First Consul's office in the Tuileries et de and his bedroom in Saint-Cloud. The seats are covered with yellow cashmere bordered with black galloons so as to match the description in the Inventory of 1814. The Victory on the guéridon that which held the statue of the emperor at the top of the Vendôme column.
