Transfer of Napoleon’s coffin from Belle Poule onto Normandie in Cherbourg, 8 December 1840. Normandie carried the coffin as far as the mouth of the River Seine, where it was transferred to the small ship La Dorade, which took it to Courbevoie, a suburb of Paris.
