Offered by the executive of the Directory to General Lefèvre.
The scabbard has on the front the inscription
“Le Directoire exécutif au général Lefèvre” (“From the
executive of the Directory to General Lefèvre”)
and on the back “Manufacture de Versailles,
Boutet Directeur-artiste” (“Made in Versailles, by Boutet,
artist director”).
