Statue of the First Consul – Fontaine des Quatre lions

This statue was bought by Cardinal Fesch who subsequently bequeathed it to the town of Ajaccio. It was erected in 1827 on a raised pedestal oramented with bas-reliefs as the central part of the Fontaine aux Lions. Bonaparte is dressed in a Roman toga.
