“Pearls are so 'in' these days that they are preferred to diamonds. […] Combs are hardly worn, flowers are similarly out of favour and often only used to provide decoration for horses. However, certain topknots have been seen with a tightly bound bunch of flowers which covers the whole of the front. The flowers used for this are hyacinths or violets. “
