BBC: Napoleon’s halting English on show in auction letter

The BBC website (UK) reports on a rare letter written in English by Napoleon I whilst on the island of St Helena. The letter, which features some curious turns of phrase and appears to have been written at 2am at a time when the exiled emperor was struggling to sleep, will go on sale at auction on Sunday 10 June.
