A weighty new, tri-lingual tome, Stanley Kubrick's Napoleon: The Greatest Movie Never Made, is soon to be published by Taschen, covering the story of the greatest film that never was: Stanley Kubrick's proposed epic retelling of Napoleon Bonaparte's life and the battles of the French Empire. Kubrick, famous for his obsessive attention to detail, apparently amassed thousands of images and spent two years preparing for the project, only for the production studios to can it. Perhaps the only thing more extraordinary than the extent of Kubrick's efforts is the price: a hefty 500 €.
