Michel Dancoisne-Martineau, French honorary consul and curator of the French domains on St Helena, has noted in his blog this week that the contract for the restoration of Longwood House, made possible by the generosity of all those who participated in our Operation St Helena campaign, has been signed. A local business, “Isaac's Construction”, has been contracted to undertake the work required (Michel has a photo of the company's director, John Ivan Isaac, in the process of signing the papers) and the contract will be dispatched next week in anticipation of the French embassy's counter-signature.
You can keep up to date on all the latest developments in the campaign via napoleon.org and Michel's blog (external link in French).
