The Guardian: UK government interested in Niall Ferguson’s ideas for history curriculum

Back in April we featured an article from The Guardian (UK) written by Niall Ferguson, in which he decried the quality of history teaching at GCSE and A Level standard. The British government has just recently expressed interest in the Harvard professor's propositions to overhaul the history curriculum. The Guardian article (generally considered to be slightly left of centre in political terms) is highly critical of this involvement, but the article raises some interesting ideas regarding what children in Britain should be learning in their history lessons.
