Following the recent destruction of the Institute of Egypt, set up in 1798 by Napoleon Bonaparte, the online news websites Ahram Online and Egypt Independent (both Egyptian English-language sites) have reported on further developments to the story. Ahram Online writes that Beit Al-Sennari, the original site of the institute, has been selected as the temporary location for the documents recovered from the fire. Egypt Independent reports that the institute building off Qasr El-Einy Street can be restored, but that the operation could cost up to seven million Egyptian pounds (over 900,000 €, or $1.2 million/£750,000).
