Moiret's Memoirs of his experiences during the Egyptian Campaign were originally to be published by Moriceau in 1818, but for unknown reasons this never happened. When Moiret's papers came up for auction in 1983 and they were bought by the French historic and Napoleonic publishers Clavreuil. Moiret's manuscript was finally published in 1984 by Edition Pierre Belfond. This translation by Rosemary Brindle edition is the first ever in English.
