Presentation by the publisher
Born in Ajaccio on August 15, 1769, Napoleon Bonaparte and, in his wake, his family members would dominate Europe, bringing their success to their hometown of Ajaccio. Today, thanks to the Bonaparte family, in particular Napoleon I, Napoleon III and Cardinal Fesch, the city of Ajaccio can truly boast its imperial roots – the cradle of this fabulous dynasty – with an international artistic heritage.
