Symposium: "Napoléon Bonaparte face à l’histoire"

In 2015, the Napoleonic Bicentennial comes to an end. It is for this reason that a reflection on “Napoléon face à l'histoire” will be the purpose of a national two-day conference in Lyons on 11 and 12 March 2015, dates which correspond to the Emperor's passage in Lyons on his return from Elba during the hundred days.
The conference “Napoléon Bonaparte face à l'histoire” is organized in scientific partnership with the Fondation Napoléon. In the context of particularly dense commemorations, several study days, scientific celebrations and events have been organized around the “Consulate” and the Empire in recent years, resulting in considerable new historiographical thought. A multitude of fields have been explored or revisited with much enthusiasm by numerous specialists (regarding financial issues, international relations, war and questions of representation, among others) resulting in the publication of exciting works and some noteworthy syntheses.
