23 July 2015, 12.30 pm

Dr Catriona Kennedy looks at British women in Brussels at the time of the Battle of Waterloo, one of history's most well-known military conflicts. Ranging from aristocrats to military wives, women from varied backgrounds gathered in Brussels for a host of different reasons. Dr Kennedy's examination of their situations will provide an alternative perspective on the Battle of Waterloo and contribute to a wider discussion on women's lives during the Napoleonic Wars.
