The Bomann-Museum Celle is holding two conferences to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo:

'Waterloo Revisited' looks at new areas of research on the famous battle, from individual players to memorial culture today. Speakers include German and British historians, curators and military experts.

See here for the conference programme.

Date and location: 12-13 June 2015 in the museum's 'Ehrenhalle der Hannoverschen Armee'

Attendance is free, but please email bomann-museum@celle.de by 5 June 2015 to register.

'Die Schlacht von 1815 und die deutschen Truppen' ('The Battle of 1815 and the German troops') looks more closely at the role of the Germans who fought alongside the British to defeat Napoleon. Until recently, their contribution has been underestimated.

See here for the symposium programme.

Date and location: 19 September 2015 in the museum's 'Ehrenhalle der Hannoverschen Armee'

Attendance is free and attendees of the symposium are given free entrance to the museum's exhibition on Waterloo. To register, please email stein@napoleon-online.de with the number of places you would like to reserve.
