Seven Ages of Paris: Portrait of a City

Partager

Taking as his subject the city of Paris, Alistair Horne, author of How far is it to Austerlitz? and Napoleon, 1805-1815, breaks the history of Paris down into seven distinct ages, starting with Julius Caesar, passing via Philip-Augustus and finishing with the age of de Gaulle, which ended in 1969. Quite naturally the author devotes a great deal of attention to both Empires.
